First, thank you all who use the plugin, who write me about the bugs you find and all the thanks from you that I receive every day.

Paste and replace

Motion now asks you to replace keyframes and links on paste.

Paste and recalculate

There are two ways to paste keyframes. Motion will ask you how to paste if the property you want to paste in has no keyframes.

Now, recalculating works stable and works with X, Y, Width and Height.

FYI: If you want to copy and paste some layer animation to another layer which has another position and sizes, Motion can recalculate X, Y, Width and Height keyframes. It calculates every property ratio of source layer keyframe and target layer current property. Then it multiplies last keyframes by this ratio.

Timeline zoom

Now, it zooms more correctly. Some time labels will be hidden if needed.

Timeline add/remove 10s

Now, Motion will add and remove timeline 10 seconds automatically.

Anchor preview

There is no need to click on an anchor button to check what the anchor is set now. You can see it right on an anchor button.

Keyframes

Keyframes and keyframes paths have changed a lot. The shape of keyframe now depends on its easing. Keyframes paths are bigger now.

FYI: If closest keyframes have the same values, then the keyframe path between them will be more transparent. This is very helpful to check where the values are changing or not.

Export frame choice

You can make several animated frames in one animation. When you export, Motion will ask you now, which frame you want to export.

FYI: Motion exports only frames with animation inside.

Export auto transparency

There is no ‘With transparency’ option on export. Motion detects transparent frames if they do not have fills, or they have hidden fills, or they have fills with opacity less than 100%.

Export clip content

Sometimes animated layers may go outside the frame which do not have ‘Clip content’ option turned on. This may cause some unexpected behavior in result export. Motion will clip all the layers according to the frame borders now.

Layers list

The layers list now shows layers with keyframes and links only by default. If you want to see all the layers, then you should click on the filter button.

Links

This is one of the biggest new feature in Motion.

Now, you can link some layer properties with another layer properties using equations.

For example, you want to move the rectangle twice faster than another one. Just link their properties and set equation like: x*2. And that’s it. It will move twice faster.

You can use a lot of source layer properties and operators in equations.

If you want to learn more about links, you can read How to make advanced animations in Figma Motion plugin.

More bugs fixed

There were a lot of small bugs which had been fixed. The amount of them is uncountable.

Conclusion

I hope you like this huge update. Any feedback is appreciated.

If you find some bugs or want to get some features, just email me.

Making the best product. Have a nice day.
